How Much Does Gutter Cleaning Cost in Hershey, PA? (2026 Prices)

Gutter cleaning is one of those jobs where quotes swing wildly and nobody explains why. One company says $90, another says $280, and you're left wondering what you're actually buying.

Here's the honest breakdown for the Hershey area — including where our number lands and, just as importantly, what we don't do.

What gutter cleaning actually costs in 2026

Nationally, a single gutter cleaning generally runs somewhere around $120–$225 for a single-story home, and roughly $150–$325 for a two-story. Some sources put the national average as high as the $190–$530 range once bigger and taller homes are folded in.

That's a huge spread. Three things explain almost all of it.

1. Height — the biggest driver by far

This is the one that matters most, and it's not really about the extra few feet of gutter. It's about ladder work.

A single-story gutter is reachable from a stable, ground-level ladder. A second-story gutter means a taller ladder, more setup and re-setup, more time, and a genuinely different risk profile. That's why every honest pricing model charges more for it — usually 25–35% more.

2. How much gutter there is

More roofline, more linear feet, more time. Home size is a rough proxy, which is why most pricing (including ours) starts there.

3. What's in them

Gutters under mature trees — which describes a lot of Hershey — fill with wet, compacted leaf mush that has to be scooped by hand. Gutters on an open lot might just need a rinse. Same house size, different job.

What we charge

We price by home size, and we only clean first-floor, ground-level gutters:

  • Small home (up to ~1,500 sq ft): $110
  • Medium home (~1,500–2,500 sq ft): $160
  • Large home (2,500+ sq ft): $210

$90 minimum on its own. You can ballpark it yourself on the pricing page in a few seconds — no phone call.

That includes clearing the gutters by hand, bagging and hauling the debris away (not leaving a pile in your beds), and checking that the downspouts actually flow.

Why we only do single-story — and why that's deliberate

Plenty of companies will happily quote you a two-story job. We won't, and we'd rather tell you why than pretend it's a scheduling thing.

Second-story gutter work is a materially different risk. It's the kind of job where the difference between "fine" and "very much not fine" is one bad ladder placement. We'd rather do the work we can do safely and well, and be straight with you about the rest, than take a job we're not set up for and hope.

Two-story home? You're still welcome — we can clear your ground-level runs: the garage, the porch, single-story extensions. That's often a real chunk of your gutter, and it's often the part that clogs worst because it sits under the trees.

For the high stuff, hire a company that specializes in it and carries the right equipment. That's not a sales pitch against ourselves — it's just the right answer.

Is it actually worth paying for?

Clogged gutters are a slow-motion problem, which is exactly why they get ignored. Water that can't get into the downspout goes over the edge, lands against the foundation, and does its damage over years, not days. By the time you see it, you're not pricing a gutter cleaning anymore.

Twice a year is the usual guidance — late spring and after the leaves drop. Under heavy tree cover, you may want the fall one done after the last leaves, not during.
